Construction Management

We undertake management of construction projects from the the beginning to the end including document management and control, scheduling, permit management, inspection, quality assurance, claims management and resolution, cost estimating and cost control, change order management, constructability reviews, coordination with design engineer/client/other agencies, commissioning, testing, and closeout.

Resident Engineering

Owners on construction projects typically require a Resident Engineer (RE) to be posted at the project site to control day to day operations of the project. Resident Engineer is the single point of contact for the overall construction management and is responsible for most aspect of construction. The RE monitors contractor's work for compliance, time and budget. The RE is responsible for progress of work and safety at the site.

Structural Engineers

Structural Assessments of residential and commercial buildings including foundations, slab-on-grade, masonry and concrete walls, steel and concrete structural members.


Bridge Inspections

We have experience in performing biennial, interim and critical inspections of bridges in New York State. Bridge inspected include Queensboro/Ed Koch Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, Macomb's Dam Bridge, and Gowanus Viaduct. Our inspectors have hands on experience in inspections of the bridges in accordance with NYSDOT and Federal guidelines. The inspectors have working knowledge of computers in general, VIRTIS, digital cameras, scanners and other hardware necessary for inspections. The inspectors are capable of working at heights, on ladders, scaffoldings, aerial lifts, under-bridge units, climbing, working in confined spaces and in adverse weather conditions and working at night.

Flood Damage Assessments of Buildings

We will provide complete flood damage assessment of buildings affected by flooding. The assessment report will be certified by a Licensed Professional Engineer.

Condition Assessments of Buildings

ZIE has the capacity to undertake projects where a complete multi-disclipinary assessment of the building is required. These assessments would include civil, mechanical, electrical and environmental evaluations.

Local Law 11/98 Inspection

The New York City Local Law 11/98 requires that the exterior walls and appurtenances of buildings taller than six (6) stories high to be inspected by a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect at least once every five years. The report of such inspection shall be submitted to the DOB and if the inspection finds an unsafe condition, such condition shall be reported immediately in writing to the owner and the DOB. These unsafe conditions are required to be corrected within 30 days of filing the report. ZIE is qualified to perform local law 11/98 inspections and prepare/file the required reports.

Sidewalk Survey and Management

The staff at ZIE have the experience to peform assessment of damaged sidewalks, develop PIR and subsequently manage construction of the assessed sidewalks.  Sidewalk cards and reports shall be prepared to conform city requirements.

Project Controls

Primavera P6 and P3 are used to develop project schedules. We undertake complete scheduling right from developing the initial project logic and WBS down to detailed WBS and comprehensive network complete baseline schedule. We work closely with the client in updating the schedules on requested intervals.

Shop Drawings

Project specific shop drawings are prepared and reviewed prior to submission to client

MEP Design and Inspections

Electrical, HVAC, Exhaust and Plumbing systems are designed in accordance with local and national codes for residential, educational and commercial facilities. Compliance inspections are conducted during progress of work. Construction Inspections are undertaken on CI and REI projects.

As-Built Drawings

As-Built Drawings are prepared based on completed construction or as requested by the client for project milestone delivery. Industry standard drafting procedures are employed in preparing as-built drawings.

Certification of documents and drawings by Professional Engineer for compliance to applicable industry codes
