Job Overview
We are looking for electrical engineers to perform assessments of public buildings. The electrical engineer will join our team to work on the annual building conditions assessment survey projects for the New York City’s Public Buildings. The electrical engineer will prepare reports of assessments using specially designed software on tablet computers.
The ideal candidate will be working in a team of Architects and MEP Engineers, conducting visual inspections of New York City public buildings. There will be a training course to learn the project’s specific methodology and processes; after the training, the engineer (inspector) will then be scheduled to inspect public buildings with his/her team. The team will be using in-house-developed software on tablets to generate inspection reports.
Requirements
- Visual inspections of public building systems and components, using proprietary mobile applications (on company-provided tablets);
- Generating daily reports of public building conditions;
- Obtaining building data pertaining to completed improvements and upgrades from buildings’ staff (custodial engineers);
- Capturing and reporting accurate deficiency quantities;
- Issuing ‘Priority Condition Reports’ when life safety/hazardous conditions exist;

- Ability to use company-provided tablet and application to complete inspection
- Knowledge of electrical systems and components in building, i.e. distribution panels, circuit boards, lightning protection.
- B.A./B.S.in Engineering or related degree
Requirements
- Minimum experience of 5 years
- Team-oriented: each member of the inspection team must have great communication skills in order to meet project goals;
- Strong organizational skills with ability to demonstrate attention to detail;
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, challenging, schedule dependent environment;
- Active listener with drive to demonstrate professionalism.
Salary:
$35-45 per hour
