PANYNJ: Construction of New Central Terminal B at LaGuardia Airport, Queens, NY
ZI Engineering, PC, as subconsultant, provided special inspection services for the construction of the New Central Terminal at LaGuardia Airport in compliance with the requirements of the Building Code Chapter 17 and the PANYNJ. The project involved the construction of the new Head House, Concourse A, and two pedestrian bridges connected to the Headhouse.
Renovation of a 5-Story Building at 16 E 94th Street, New York, NY
ZI Engineering, PC provided a complete range of special inspections services for the renovation and upgrade of this 5-story residential building on the Upper East side of Manhattan, such as: Excavations – Sheeting Shoring; Subsurface Conditions; Concrete Cast-In-Place; Structural Steel – Welding; Structural Steel – High Strength Bolting; Structural Cold – Formed Steel (light gauge steel); Structural Stability; Masonry; Wood – Installation of High-Load Diaphragms.; Wood – Installation of Metal – Plate – Trusses; Wood – Installation of Prefabricated I – Joists; Fire Resistant Penetrations and Joints.
The project involved the installation of new structural steel frame, new concrete masonry walls, new cold formed steel floor joist with a concrete deck overlay, and new stairs framing.
ZI Engineering, PC coordinated all the construction activities with the owner’s representative to monitor the quality of the construction under the NYCDOB – Building Code Chapter 17. Qualified inspectors performed special and progress inspections, prepared non-conformance reports when any non-conforming conditions were found and submitted them to the contractor.
ZIEngineering, PC prepared the log of all inspections containing details such as: date of inspection, status, NCRs and reports of NCR closures.
Renovation of Existing Building at 391 5th Ave, Brooklyn NY
ZI Engineering, PC provided a complete range of special inspections services for the renovation and upgrade of these two 2-story commercial and residential buildings in Brooklyn, NY. The project involved the expansion of the rear portion of the building including new footings, installation of new Cold Formed Steel floor framing throughout, new stair framing and installation of new mechanical systems.

Special Inspection Services for Trump Park Avenue, New York, NY
ZI Engineering, PC provided special and progress inspection services for replacement and enlargement of three windows on the 29th floor of the 31-story Trump Park Ave building in Manhattan, NY. The project involved removal of the exterior solid brick column, replacement of the exterior face brick, replacement of steel lintel and its connection to structural steel spandrel beam, fireproofing of structural member and installation of new window.
The special inspections included:Structural Steel – Welding, Structural Steel – Bolting, Structural Steel – Details, Structural Stability, and Sprayed Fire proofing. The progress inspection included Fenestration U-Factor, Product Rating, Air Leakage, and areas.
Renovation of Wendy’s on Utica Avenue, Brooklyn, NY
ZI Engineering, PC provided services for the upgrade of the Wendy’s Restaurant on Utica Ave in Brooklyn, NY such as: special inspections, progress inspections and final inspection of the construction work; Mechanical, Energy Compliance, and Structural Inspections were performed to meet the NYCDOB code requirements and contract drawings.
